Founded on October 1, 1999, Remont Gallery emerged as an independent artistic association created by a group of artists and art historians seeking to establish a dynamic, non-institutional framework for professional knowledge exchange. Throughout its existence, Remont has addressed current issues in the contemporary visual art scene while improving working conditions for artists. The gallery has become one of Belgrade’s most popular venues for contemporary art, exhibiting works by young and emerging Serbian artists across various media—from photography and sculpture to conceptual art. With over 400 programs executed since its founding, Remont has been instrumental in shaping Belgrade’s independent art ecosystem.
